Boundary Retracement Surveys
Also known as lot surveys or pin surveys, boundary surveys are intended to re-establish a boundary line on the ground. Such surveys also obtain data for producing a map or plat showing a boundary line. Boundary surveys are the oldest type of survey and date back to 1400 BC, in Egypt. Lot surveys can help home owners, or those purchasing a home, know exactly where their property begins and ends. These surveys are used for construction, installing a fence or property barrier, and for resolving boundary disputes between neighbors. |
Lot Split Surveys
Lot splits are necessary when you want to create a new property line or a new tract of land on a small scale (different than creating a platted subdivision). Lot splits are governed by the municipality the property is located in and require approval at the local and county level.
*Zoning regulations often limit how a property can be split.
**WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT PERFORMING LOT SPLITS WITHIN THE CITY OF COLUMBUS LIMITS**
